Introduction

TSt. Andrews Residential Care Home provides a safe, supportive environment for adults with mental health and related needs. We offer short- and long-term care in a purpose-built single-storey home featuring 8 single bedrooms (one disability-accessible), 2 communal bathrooms, 1 shower room, a lounge with TV and stereo, a dining room, fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, a sauna, and spacious front and rear gardens. Service users are encouraged to develop life skills, including personal care, cooking, budgeting, and community engagement, all supported by a trained 24-hour care team dedicated to promoting independence, confidence, and social reintegration.

Admission and Referral Process

We offer flexible admissions, either short-term or long-term, depending on the service user’s needs. Referrals can be made through a social worker or care coordinator, and a thorough assessment will be conducted to ensure we can meet the service user’s requirements.

    Home Details

    St. Andrews Residential Care Home offers eight single bedrooms, all with wash hand basins, including one with a suite disability facility. Each room is equipped with a color TV, radio cassette player, private telephone for internal communication and external calls, modern furniture, good lighting, laminated flooring, and central heating. The home includes five communal toilets, one with a shower. Residents have exclusive access to their rooms, with staff entry permitted only in emergencies, for health and safety reasons, or with permission. The lounge is fully furnished with a Sky TV, video, and stereo, and the kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, fostering independence in a comfortable, homely environment.

    • Balanced Choice (BC): Dishes that contain moderate amounts of fat, sugar, and salt and are suitable as part of a balanced, healthy diet (suitable for those with diabetes).
    • Easy Chew (EC): Soft or moist foods that can easily be eaten and can be mashed with the back of the fork.
    • Energy-Dense (ED): These dishes contain more calories than balanced choice dishes.
    • No Gluten Containing Ingredients (NG): These dishes do not have any gluten-containing ingredients.
    • Vegetarian (V): Suitable for Lacto-ovo vegetarians where milk, egg, and their products are consumed but excludes all meat, poultry, fish, and ingredients or products derived from these, e.g., gelatine and rennet.
    • Vegan (VG): Suitable for vegans who exclude all forms of animal and fish flesh and their products, i.e., milk, eggs, cheese, honey, and animal-based food additives such as lecithin and whey.
